How to Make Your Wedding Reception More Fun

I get asked this ALL the time. It’s natural to worry. And it’s natural to want your wedding to be remembered forever :)

Everyone is flying out to celebrate you and we want to show them a good time.

In shooting over 400 weddings here are some latest fun ideas that I’ve found!

CAPTURING THE FUN

1.     360 wedding booth that spins your guests around while taking many snapshots that turns into a fun video. It’s been hilarious to witness and I just keep hoping no one flies off one day! And if so, I’ll be there to capture it.

2.     Audio guestbook (with a vintage phone) where guests can record sweet messages. More personal twist on traditional photobooth photos and written messages

4.     Live Wedding Painting

A professional artist can come and create a painting of you and your spouse and family and friends in a scene from your wedding. It maybe say a scene of the first dance surrounded by loved ones. It’s a great way to capture a unique and elegant moment in time to hang in your house forever. It supports local artists and also provides entertainment for guests to see throughout the day. Sometimes the couple makes prints and can give those to all of the guests as a keepsake.

5.     Poetry writer

To write poetry on the spot for guests. Classy and sentimental way of capruting the essence of the wedding and fun for everyone to take home.

6.     Tarrot Card Reader

You don't have to be an astrology expert to enjoy an aura reading. When guests need a break from dancing, invite them to visit an astrologist or tarot card reader as a fun wedding activity. But beware—this wedding entertainment idea may result in lines longer than those at the bar.

Can be fun for later in the reception. Work with a band karaoke and let guests jump in the last hour of the wedding. Set up a projector to help singers with lyrics.

These are more fun and energetic and very classy. Some can double as DJs as well. Some use more unique instruments than pianos, guitars and violins.

2.     Late night gourmet food truck or tacos!

3.     Tea Bar and Latte Bar for caffeine

4.     Signature Cocktails and Mixology Bar. Not only have a mixologists created your signature cocktail for your personality but also lets guests. You can have fun garnsihes and presentation styles like blowing rosemary bubbles atop drinks or glow in the dark strobe light glasses. Craft some cocktails after your guests and name them something funny.
